Lately, there has been a lot of talk about green tea weight loss and is it really a quick weight loss diet? or is it all a scam?
Green tea, oolong tea, black tea and white tea all come from the same tea plant… camellia sinensis. All teas from the camellia tea plant are rich in polyphenols, which is a type of antioxidant. It doesn’t matter the type of tea, black or green, tea has about 8 to 10 times the polyphenols found in fruits and vegetables. This means that including a cup of two of tea can be a great way to get a huge amount of antioxidants into your body. Yes it’s a great addition to any diet, but it’s not a miracle drink many people are hyping it up to be.
Studies have shown that it’ll increase your metabolism and assist the body in fat burning, but drinking huge amount of green tea all day does not guarantee long term weight loss. Drinking only one or two cups is more than enough to receive its benefits, but it does contain caffeine so you should be careful with drinking too much especially if you have a problem with caffeine.
